New- Bot Compliance Course: Form 16 Series And Schedules

A. INTRODUCTION

 

The Bank of Tanzania Act, 2006 and the Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 2006 mandate the Bank of Tanzania (BOT) to license, regulate and supervise banks and financial institutions in Tanzania. As a regulator, BOT is entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring stable, sound and safe banking sector and financial system at large. In discharging this responsibility, it is the interest of BOT to ensure that banking institutions prepare and fill within the required time frames, reports that reflect their actual financial condition and performance.
It is along this background that the Bank of Tanzania Training Institute has organized a one-week course, which is intended to impart necessary skills to staff of banking institutions on how to fill and submit BOT reports. The training will cover new reports that were introduced with the intention of collecting necessary information for financial and monetary decisions. This course will be conducted at our BOT Arusha branch in two batches of one week each as indicated above.


B. OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

The objective of the course is to impart necessary skills to participants on how to fill and submit to BOT accurate and timely period reports. This includes reports that are required to be submitted to BOT on daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Please note that the BOT has issued new set of Form 16 – Schedules, which will be used from October 2017.

 

C. CONTENTS OF THE COURSE

The course will cover presentation on reports relating to various regulatory and operational areas of banking institutions such as capital adequacy, liquidity, earnings, credit, agent banking and foreign exchange operations.

D. TARGET GROUP
This course is designed specifically for officers of banking institutions who are involved in filling and reviewing of BOT regulatory report from departments such as finance, internal audit, credit, compliance, risk and treasury management.

 

E. DURATION

One (1) week for each Batch: Batch I from 17 to 21 July 2017.
Batch II from 24 to 28 July 2017.

H. FEES
Fee for each participant is TZS.1,000,000.00 covering tuition, course materials, lunch and mid-sessions tea/coffee/refreshments. Participants will be responsible for their travel costs and upkeep. Please, do not show up at the venue if you have no evidence of payment of fees. Kindly make payments through TISS with the following details:
