BOT CENTRAL DEPOSITORY SYSTEM (CDS) USER TRAINING
Among the primary objectives of the Bank of Tanzania is to formulate, define and implement monetary policy directed to the maintenance of price stability conducive to the balanced and sustainable growth of the national economy. The Bank, in its capacity as a fiscal agent of the Government, maintains a Central Depository System for Government Securities. In this regard, the Bank therefore acts as an agent of the Government in issuance, payment of principal and interest on the above-referred securities. The Bank introduced an online system to enable the general public to efficiently and effectively participate in government securities auctions through the designated Central Depository Participants (CDPs). BOT CDS is a system which maintains and processes Treasury Bills and Bonds transactions /records through the Government Securities System (GSS).
B. OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
The objective of this user training is to familiarize Central Depository Participants (CDPs) system users with the functionalities of Central Depository System. That is to equip CDPs system users with necessary skills in managing clients, placing bids, viewing auction results, transfer of securities and collateral management.

Since this is a hands-on training, each participant is required bring his/her own laptop. The Bank of Tanzania will only provide network access to the participants.

Fee for each participant is TZS. 750,000/= covering tuition, course materials, lunch and mid-session tea/coffee/refreshments. Participants will be responsible for their travel costs and upkeep.
